  • Periodontology is a branch of dentistry that deals with diseases of the gum and jaw bone surrounding the teeth and their treatment. The first and most important symptom of gum disease is spontaneous bleeding that develops spontaneously or when brushing teeth. However, gum disease; swelling redness of the gums, local or widespread withdrawals and sensitive areas are also evident. In further cases, inflammation flow, bad breath, displacement of teeth, elongation and shaking can be observed between teeth and gums. In the following cases, tooth loss can be seen due to gum disease.

    In our department, our patients are primarily encouraged to provide oral hygiene by giving oral and dental health training. In the treatment of gum disease, non-surgical applications such as dental cleaning, curettage according to the severity of the disease, and surgical applications such as flap orerations are performed. In addition, in our department, correction of gingival enlargement, gingival recessions (closure of the root surface), correction of abnormal muscle connections, regenerative periodontal surgery applications (bone graft, etc.), resective periodontal surgery applications (root resections, bone contour corrections, etc.), crown lengthening (prosthesis retention) increase or for aesthetic purposes) and dental implant applications.
